The Black femme body is evidence of the contradictory nature of dehumanization vis-à-vis misogynoir. The Black femme body is a source of Deification. We are goddesses, ethereal, and the purveyors of the fantastical. However, we are also bestial and hyper-sexualized. The Black femme body becomes both sacred and profane as a byproduct of institutionalized supremacist norms. Through ecclesiastical objects, I choose to address the trope of Black femme martyrdom.
